Our Story
Mopsey Designs is named for my great-grandmother, Mopsey. She taught me to stitch two decades ago, painted for local needlepoint shops on Nantucket and was a powerhouse of a creative. I was encouraged to continue needlepointing by my grandmother, Nonnie (who wanted to be called Queenie, epic right?). She is a master florist, can fold a fitted sheet beautifully and adds an element of design to everything she touches. I strive to embody these women in every design.
The vision of Mopsey Designs is to bring modern and quirky designs while respecting the history and tradition of needlepoint.
Meet the Founder
HI! I'm Lucy, the face and designer behind Mopsey Designs. I'm so excited you're here!
I studied art therapy and printmaking and am obsessed with color. I see it everywhere and want to include bold and bright colors in needlepoint. I am inspired by music, the history of needlepoint and classic works of art that came before me. I'm committed to bringing an element of self-care, mindfulness and an awareness of mental health to this community. I love glitter, my pride Air Force 1s, hanging with my dogs outside and yard games.
